TunerPal ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile and web applications. TunerPal is a one-time purchase app ($3.99) with no subscription or recurring fees.
1. Information We Collect
Data You Provide
- Tuning Preferences: Selected instrument, tuning presets, custom tunings, and A4 calibration settings
- Instrument Settings: Theme preference, metronome BPM, and display options
- Contact Information: Name and email when you contact support
Microphone Access
TunerPal requires microphone access for instrument tuning and vocal training. Your audio is processed entirely on-device in real-time for pitch detection. Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server. The microphone stream is used only while the tuner is actively running and is immediately discarded after processing.
2. How We Store Your Data
Local Storage Only: All your tuning preferences, custom tunings, instrument settings, and app configuration are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB (web) or local storage (mobile). We do not store this data on our servers.
This means:
- ✅ Your data never leaves your device
- ✅ We cannot access your settings or preferences
- ✅ Audio from your microphone is never recorded or transmitted
- ✅ App works completely offline
- ⚠️ Data is tied to your device — clearing app data or uninstalling removes it
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information only for:
- Providing core app functionality (pitch detection, tuning presets, metronome)
- Remembering your preferences between sessions
- Responding to your support requests
We do NOT:
- ❌ Sell your data to third parties
- ❌ Display advertisements
- ❌ Track you across websites or apps
- ❌ Require account creation or login
- ❌ Record or transmit audio from your microphone
4. Third-Party Services
None. TunerPal does not connect to any third-party services. All audio processing, pitch detection, and tuning calculations happen entirely on your device. There are no analytics, no external APIs, and no network requests required for the app to function.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We do not use cookies for tracking.
We use essential browser storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) to save your tuning preferences and settings. This is local storage for app functionality — not tracking.
6. Data Security
- HTTPS encryption for the website
- No server-side storage of personal data
- All audio processing happens on-device
- Secure contact form handling via Formspree
7. Children's Privacy
TunerPal is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the contact form, please email tunerpal@ldcoda.com.
8. Your Rights
- Access: All tuning data is stored locally on your device
- Deletion: Clear all app data in settings or uninstall
- Correction: Edit settings and custom tunings directly in the app
- Data Portability: Export feature coming soon
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of TunerPal after changes constitutes acceptance.
